Text of ABOA Letter No.F-3/ABOA/2012-15/30 Dated:20/01/2015

The General Secretary,
AIBOC,
C/o Bank of India,
Parliament Street Branch,
PTI Building, 4, Parliament Street,
New Delhi-110001

Dear Comrades,

I am sure that you would agree with me that the manner in which the wage revision discussions are slowly getting drifted away from desired goals, we have set for ourselves, is causing unrest and anxiety among the rank and file despite the unwavering commitment of AIBOC to clinch a legitimate and decent wage revision to officers.

While, I am concerned about the confused state of affairs and trying circumstances through which our esteemed organization is passing through, I am equally aware of your predicaments in confronting the emerging situations. The differing of Strike from 21st to 24th January,2015 by the UFBU is not to the liking of many comrades more so because the other constituents of UFBU do not seem to be sharing our concerns and expectations in the wage revision. Looking to the present scenario, even the next round of discussions in first week of February 2015 may not be to our satisfaction. As such, as an advisor of AIBOC, though unsolicited, suo moto suggest that AIBOC should immediately serve a separate notice and proceed on strike for 3 or 4 days followed by indefinite strike immediately, in case IBA does not improve the percentage of their offer to our satisfaction, from the very next day of the negotiation date in February, 2015 to make AIBOC’s intentions more pronounced and to instill confidence among the membership. Alternatively, an emergency Working Committee Meeting can be called to arrest the discontentment of comrades and also to firm up our resolve on the issue of strike in a bigger forum. Not withstanding your earnest effort to galvanise our organization towards our cherished goal, I feel, some where along the line, though reluctantly, unwittingly we are being dragged away from the focused objective.

My considered opinion / suggestion is to bring about greater clarity to our earnest endeavour, course correction, if need be and to establish genuine connect to our membership who look to AIBOC as a single largest Organisation and sole bargaining agency on their behalf.

Yours comradely,

(HARSHAVARDHAN MADABHUSHI)
GENERAL SECRETARY
